WASHINGTON, D.C. - Marist baseball put players in scoring position in four separate innings against George Washington, but was unable to convert on multiple opportunities while the Colonials built an advantage with two unearned runs for a final tally of 3-1.
The Red Foxes (2-4) were led by a superb performance from
Reece Armitage, who homered and doubled to pace the offense. Starter
Ryan Cardona was given the loss, though he allowed just one earned run in 5.2 innings.

- After George Washington grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first, the Red Fox defense held strong until Reece Armitage smashed a solo homer in the top of the fourth to tie up the game.
- In the bottom of the inning, the Colonials tallied consecutive hits and then Steve Barmakian scored on a groundout to reclaim a 2-1 advantage.
- George Washington capitalized on a throwing error in the sixth to increase their lead to 3-1.
- Reece Armitage reached scoring position in the ninth with a chance to cut the deficit, but he would be left stranded as the Colonials secured the final out to win series.
- Reece Armitage (3-for-4) was lethal with a homer, a double and a stolen base.
- Tyler Kapuscinski went 2-for-4 to back up Armitage.
- In his first start, Ryan Cardona struck out three with just one earned run in 5.2 innings.
- Jack Keenan and Will Van Beusekom came out of the bullpen and tossed 1.1 and 1.0 innings respectively with two punchouts each.
- Every George Washington starter was tagged for at least one hit, while starter Elliot Raimo allowed three hits, two walks and a homer in 5.1 innings.
