POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's swimming & diving team earned a 183-106 victory over Canisius in its season opener at McCann Natatorium on Friday.
The Red Foxes had four individual double winners on the day:
- Ahmed Sallam captured both the 50 free (21.09 seconds) and 100 free (46.52 seconds).
- Sean Doran won both the 100 back (52.59 seconds) and 200 IM (1:59.95). Doran also swam the first leg of the Red Foxes' winning 200 medley relay.
- Adam Kapusta took first place in the 200 free (1:45.40) and 200 back (1:55.75).
- In diving, Tyler Wenzel captured both boards. He scored 217.27 on his 3-meter dive and 205.12 on the 1-meter.

After not competing in the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Friday's meet marked the first at McCann Natatorium since Jan. 25, 2020.
"It was great being able to compete at McCann in front of a great crowd," said first-year head coach
Anthony Randall. "I was really proud of how everyone competed today and how the energy on deck matched our intensity in the water."
The Red Foxes will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 21 at Fordham, with the meet scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
