POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist baseball team swept the Siena Saints in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at McCann Field.

Down two runs early, the Red Fox offense got hot in the fourth inning and never stopped, as Marist took game one 13-6. The Red Foxes struck early in game two, with eight runs in the first two innings to pace a 10-2 rout.

Marist improves to 15-7 on the season, having won five in row dating back to their three wins last weekend against Manhattan. Siena falls to 14-22.

- With one out in the third inning and runners on first and second, Siena's Kobe Stenson singled to left field, where a fielding error allowed Carson Dunkel to score from second and put the Saints ahead 1-0.
- Brett Young then lined a ball into right-center field to score Devan Kruzinski to increase the Saints' lead to 2-0.Â
- Skyler Pichardo entered the game for starter Austin Phillips with runners on second and third and one out in the third inning. Pichardo caused Siena's Pat O'Hare to lined out to Dylan Hoy at shortstop, who threw it to third and tagged out Stenson to end the inning.
- The Red Foxes later completed another double play, a 6-4-3 double play, to end the fourth frame.
- Matt Rubayo started the fourth with a leadoff single. Consecutive walks from Robbie and Reece Armitage loaded the bases for the Red Foxes with no outs.
- A wild pitch thrown by Siena's Arlo Marynczak scored Rubayo to give the Red Foxes their first run of the game. Dylan Hoy then hit a sacrifice fly deep into left field to score Robbie Armitage and tie the game 2-2.Â
- With two outs in the inning, Tyler Kapuscinski lined a ball up the middle of the field to score Reece Armitage for a 3-2 Red Fox edge.Â
- After Niko Amory walked with one out in the fifth inning, Matt Rubayo crushed a two-run home run down the left-field line to extend the Red Fox lead to 5-2.
- Marist continued their fifth inning burst with a walk from Reece Armitage, followed by a single from Hoy that put runners on first and third. Gene Napolitano pinch hit for Ben McNeill and doubled off the wall in center field, scoring both Reece Armitage and Hoy.
- Tyler Kapuscinski then singled straight up the middle on the first pitch to plate Napolitano.Â
- Brian Picone slammed a ball down the left field line for a double and put runners on second and third with two outs. A fielding error committed by Siena's second baseman Donovan Montgomery allowed Brian Hart to reach first base and score Picone and Kapuscinski.Â
- Amory singled into left field and advanced Hart to second. Rubayo then belted another home run into left field, his second of the game, to give the Red Foxes a 13-2 lead at the end of the fifth inning.  Marist scored a total of 10 runs in the fifth inning.
- James Rubino replaced Skyler Pichardo with one out in the sixth inning. With a 2-1 count, Brett Young belted a solo home run into center field for Siena's third run of the game, cutting the deficit to 10 runs.Â
- In the seventh, the Saints closed the gap to 13-5 after a pair of wild pitches.
- With a full count, Clayton Barnes struck out Siena's Bryce Porter swinging for his first career strikeout as a Red Fox before being replaced by Drake Quinn. Matt Rubayo made a diving catch for the second out, limiting the damage to just a sacrifice fly.Â

- With the bases loaded and two outs in the first inning, Trevor Backman struck out Jake Hall to get the Red Foxes out of the early jam. Backman had three strikeouts in the first inning, all swinging.Â
- Kapuscinski began the bottom half of the first with a hit by pitch to put him on first base. Hart then walked to put runners on first and second base. Amory lined a ball into left-center field to score Kapuscinski for the first run of the game.Â
- A sacrifice fly from Rubayo in deep right field scored Hart to make it 2-0.Â
- On the second pitch of his at-bat, Robbie Armitage belted a two-run home run into left-center field to clear the bases and extend the Red Fox lead to 4-0.Â
- In the second, Hart then lined a ball up the middle of the field into center field to score Napolitano and Kapuscinski, giving Marist a 6-0 lead with no outs in the inning.Â
- With one on and two outs, Robbie Armitage belted his second home run in consecutive innings, a two-run blast, to straightaway center field, increasing the Red Fox advantage to 8-0.
- Jake Hall's two-run single to left scored Siena's first runs of game two, but a 4-6-3 double play from the Red Fox defense ended the inning.
- On the first pitch of the bottom half of the third inning, Hoy doubled into deep right field. He would later score on an RBI groundout from Kapuscinski.
- With runners on first and third with two outs in the fifth inning, Zane Kmietek entered the game for Brian Yetter. Kmietek eventually caused Tim Carroll to fly out to shallow left field to end the inning unscathed.
- In the eighth inning, Will Van Beusekom struck out three straight batters. He finished game two with one hit and no runs allowed and the three strikeouts over 1.2 innings.
- Donnie Stone doubled into deep left field, advancing to third on a throwing error. Hart's sacrifice fly to left field scored Stone and put Marist on top 10-2.
- Isaac Brown closed out the game for the Red Foxes, striking out the last batter.
- Matt Rubayo finished game one going 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs. He also led the team with five RBIs.
- This is Rubayo's second multi-home run game of the season and the second of his career. His first came at Saint Peter's on April 18th, 2021, where he also had two home runs. Rubayo now has five home runs this season.
- Napolitano and Kapuscinski each finished with two RBIs in game one. Hoy had one RBI in game one.
- Skyler Pichardo surrendered no hits and no runs while striking out one over three innings in relief of game one starter Austin Phillips.
- Robbie Armitage finished game two going 2-for-4 with two home runs. This was Armitage's second multi-home run game of his career, with his first coming at Richmond on March 24th, 2019. Armitage also led the team with four RBIs.
- Brian Hart went 1-for-3 with three RBIs in the second game.
- Rubayo, Amory, and Kapuscinski each had an RBI in game two.
- Marist completed the regular season series sweep of its I-87 rivals, outscoring Siena 55-12 in four games in Poughkeepsie.
- Marist will take on Quinnipiac over the weekend for their final series of the regular season.
