POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist baseball picked up two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly awards, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Fifth-year senior
Robbie Armitage was named MAAC Player of the Week, while freshman
Nathan Lincoln was honored as Rookie of the Week.
The recognition comes after the Red Foxes swept their weekend series at home against Quinnipiac, which was capped off by a mercy-rule win in the final game on Sunday. Armitage was red-hot at the plate, going 10-for-14 (.714) on the weekend with three doubles, seven runs scored, 10 runs batted in, and a home run to lead Marist. In game three, Armitage went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBIs and a home run, propelling Marist to 17 runs.
Lincoln improved his average to .304 this weekend, hitting 6-for-12 (.500) with a double, five runs scored, and three RBIs. The freshman also had a perfect day at the plate in game three of the Quinnipiac series, getting four hits and two RBIs in a 17-7 win.
