POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- Marist Women's Rowing traveled to Hamilton, NY on Saturday to race against Colgate, Canisius, Lehigh and D'Youville. The women traveled with the 1^st and 2^nd varsity 8s and the Varsity 4 and 2^nd Varsity 4.  The race format was conference competition in the first round followed by a race between the winners of round 1 and a race between the non-winners of round 1.   
 

Summary

• The Varsity 8 consisted of coxswain Katie Moody, Summer Starrett, Lydia Giguere, Natalia Miklos, Gabby Insero, Kassie Nicholson, Emma Jauch, Lauren Muhr, and Ashley Surette.
• The second varisty 8 consisted of coxswain Abigail Cieplinski/Catie Stiffler, Genevieve Anderson, Caroline Voorhis, Elizabeth Kelly, Avalon Johnson, Molly O'Donoghue, Mary Schone, Hilary Anderson and Francesca D'Ugo.  
• The Varsity 4 consisted of coxswain Phoebe Castellano, Casey Hodge, Sophia Ledda, Jennifer Liguori and Rebecca Paul. 
• The 2V 4 consisted of coxswain Emma Spiro, Jessica Zygmunt, Victoria Hamilton, Alexandra Gibeault and Emily Liguori.

 

Results

• The first round of racing pitted Marist against MAAC rival Canisius, while Colgate raced against Lehigh in a Patriot League matchup.  Marist was victorious in each of the events in the morning round, while Lehigh won its morning heat in the V8, Colgate in the 2V8 and Lehigh in the V4.
• In the 2^nd round of racing, Marist fell to Lehigh in the V8 final, beat Colgate in the 2V8 final and placed 1^st and 2^nd in the 3 boat final of the V4 event, ahead of Lehigh's crew.
