Baseball Pummels Hartford In Single Game Matchup

Red Foxes Extend Winning Streak To Three Games

WEST HARTFORD, Connecticut- The Marist baseball team extended its winning streak to three games, Tuesday afternoon. The Red Foxes defeated the Hartford Hawks 17-6 in the non-conference matchup.

  • In the top of the first inning, the Red Foxes took a 3-0 lead on multiple errors by the Hawks. Justin Kapuscinski brought home a run on a sacrifice fly for the Red Foxes.

The Red Foxes regained the lead 7-6. Colin Mackle scored Butler on a sacrifice fly. Followed by Mackle, Dylan Hoy hit his first home run of the season and gave the Red Foxes a 10-6 lead after the fifth.
  • Jack Wren followed the five run fifth for the Red Foxes with a scoreless bottom-half of the inning.
  • Danny Keon relieved Wren in the bottom of the sixth and pitched a scoreless inning.
  • In the top-half of the seventh, The Red Foxes scored on a bases-loaded walk which increased their lead 11-6. With the bases loaded, Bayram Hot singled which brought home three runs and extended the Red Foxes lead 14-6.
  • In the eighth inning, Danny Moshier recorded his second double of the day for the Red Foxes. Moshier scored on a fielding error by Harford which put Colin Mackle at first. The Red Foxes increased their lead 15-6.
  • Hunter Sabbers pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the Red Foxes.
  • In the ninth inning, Vin Panzarino singled which brought home Dylan Boone. Later in the inning, Brian Hart scored on a double play and extended the Red Foxes lead 17-6.
