EDISON, New Jersey- Sophomore jumper Kiana Pathirana of the Marist women's track and field team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
Pathirana finished the week setting a new school record in the triple jump as she jumped a distance of 11.08 meters at the Rider University Invitational. She broke a previous school record that was 22 years old, previously set by Jen Stewart (10.87) in 2001

This is Pathirana's first weekly Metro Atlantic Athletic conference award of the season.
