Women's Tennis Defeats Lafayette

A Strong Singles Performance For The Red Foxes

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's tennis team got back into the winner's column Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 win over Lafayette in a non-conference match played at the Marist Tennis Pavilion.  After losing the doubles point, the Lady Foxes notched five singles wins to post the victory.

"This was a great win for the ladies, especially in light of their difficult loss to Rider on Friday night," said Director of Tennis Gary Sussman. "Jane and Cloe once again led the way, as they scored singles wins at one and two respectively, and also recorded the team's lone doubles win."

"Big props to AK, who recorded her first collegiate W with a straight set win at six, and then Ellen and Isabella scored three set wins at three and four.  We've been getting great production all season from the top of the lineup, and today, we were able to continue the momentum throughout the rotation.  Superb team effort."
