POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist baseball team clinches the series win against Canisius in the final series of the 2023 regular season. Dominant pitching by the Red Foxes led to a 6-2 win over the Golden Griffins.

 

Summary

• The Red Foxes struck first in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI double from Colin Mackle. Nathan Lincoln scored on the play putting the Red Foxes up 1-0.
• In the bottom of the third inning, Niko Amory added to the Red Foxes lead with a home run over the right field fence. The Red Foxes led 2-0 after three innings of play.
• For the first at bat of the fourth inning, Ethan Conrad launched a home run over the left field fence. The Red Foxes extended their lead to 3-0.
• Canisius cut into the Red Foxes lead with two runs in the top of the sixth inning.
• The Red Foxes added back to the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Red Foxes gained one run on a fielding error by Canisius. Dylan Hoy singled which brought home Nathan Lincoln on an RBI single for the second run of the inning.
• In the bottom-half of the seventh inning, the Red Foxes extended the lead to 6-2. Brian Hart ripped an RBI single through the right side which scored Bayram Hot.
• The Red Foxes defeated Canisius 6-2.
