ALBANY, New York- The Marist baseball team fell in a non-conference matchup against the University at Albany, Wednesday afternoon. The Red Foxes comeback was stopped short against the Great Danes, falling 9-5.

 

Summary

• The Red Foxes jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a Brian Hart home run in the top-half of the first. Hart recorded his 11^th home run of the season.
• Albany struck back in the bottom of the first with three runs, which gave the Great Danes a 3-1 lead after the first inning.
• Albany doubled its first inning scoring with three more runs in the second inning which extended the Red Foxes deficit to 6-1.
• In the fourth inning, Brian Hart scored the second Red Foxes run of the game on a wild pitch. The Red Foxes cut into the Great Danes lead 6-2. Later in the fourth, Devin Boone scored Nicholas Butler on an infield single, and the Red Foxes cut into the lead again 6-3.
• The Great Danes added a run in the fifth inning and two runs in the seventh to extend their lead to 9-3 over the Red Foxes.
• After a Bayram Hot triple and a Justin Kapuscinski walk to start the eighth inning, Ethan Conrad cleared the bases on a double. The Red Foxes cut into the Albany lead 9-5 after the top of the eighth inning.
• The Red Foxes fell in the non-conference matchup 9-5 to the Great Danes.
