POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- Lance Ratchford, head coach for Marist baseball, announced two additions to the Red Foxes coaching staff for the upcoming season. The Red Foxes welcome back catcher
Niko Amory and newcomer Ray Sanchez to the staff.
Amory joins the coaching staff as the Director of Operations and Player Development. Amory will assist with on-campus recruiting, team travel, practice schedules, and equipment management. Amory will also take part in managing team technology and overseeing team managers.
Amory most recently served as an assistant coach for the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod Baseball League. In his role, Amory oversaw the catchers and assisted the hitting coach. Amory helped manage the bullpen and coordinated player public appearances for the Whitecaps.
During his career with the Red Foxes, Amory started in 123 games while slashing 15 home runs, 15 doubles, and 97 runs batted in.
Ray Sanchez joins the Red Foxes as an assistant coach, working with the Red Foxes outfielders and assisting in hitting. Sanchez will also recruit incoming student-athletes to the Red Foxes.
Sanchez most recently served as an assistant coach at Hudson Valley Community College. Prior to HVCC, Sanchez coached under Ratchford at SUNY Cobleskill as the hitting coach and recruitment.
Sanchez hails from West Palm Beach, Florida, where he played at Palm Beach State. Sanchez later played at Nova Southeastern, a notable Division II powerhouse.
