BUFFALO, New York- The Marist swim and dive program is set for its first MAAC meet of the season, Friday morning. The Red Foxes compete against the Canisius Golden Griffins in a dual meet, which will be the second dual meet of the 2024-25 season.
The dual meet is set for Oct. 11 at 11 a.m.
The women's team comes off its home opener against Vermont on Oct. 5. The Red Foxes fell against the Catamounts 170-127 in its first meet at McCann Natatorium.
The men's team resume play after its third-place finish at the Army Tri-Meet to begin the 2024-25 season.
- Caden Hardy dominated the pool in the Red Foxes first meet at the Army Tri-Meet.
- Hardy earned MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performance at the meet on Oct. 2.
- Hardy placed on the podium in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 25.92, which was the fastest time for the Red Foxes.
- Hardy also placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 56.71 at the Army Tri-Meet.
- Rae Dodson led the Red Foxes in their last meet against Vermont.
- Dodson finished the meet with two-first place finishes in her first home meet as a Red Fox.
- Dodson placed first in both breaststroke swim against the Catamounts.
- Dodson finished with a time in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.54.
- Dodson also placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with an impressive time of 1:04.98, narrowly finishing in front of teammate April Avila who finished at 1:04.99.
- This is the first meet of the season for the Golden Griffins.
- Last season, the Golden Griffins women's team finished in fourth place at the 2024 MAAC Championships with 332 points.
- The men's team finished sixth overall at the MAAC Championships, finishing with 317 total points.
- Marin de Villard was named Co-Rookie of the Meet, alongside the Red Foxes Adam Zaremba.
- The Red Foxes are set for a second-straight MAAC meet against Rider.
- The dual meet is slated for Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
