Swim & Dive Set For MAAC Dual Meet Against Rider

Red Foxes Look For Back-To-Back MAAC Wins, Previously Defeating Canisius

LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey- The Marist swim and dive program is set for its second MAAC dual meet of the season against Rider, Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes previously swept Canisius, as the men's team defeated the Golden Griffins 154-117 and the women's team 170-124.

The Red Foxes men's team improved to 1-0 overall and the women's team improved to 1-1 overall on the 2024-25 season.
 
James "Swimmer of the Week" Conable
  • James Conable earned his first MAAC Swimmer of the Week award on Oct. 16.
    • The award marked the third MAAC Weekly Award for the Red Foxes.
  • James Conable led the way for the Red Foxes with three first-place finishes in their win against Canisius.
  • Conable dominated in the sixth event of the meet, the 200-yard freestyle. Conable placed first in the swim with a time of 1:42.44, which was almost two seconds in front of the second-place finishers (1:44.12).
  • Conable also finished first in the 20th event of the meet, which was the 200-yard backstroke. Conable swam his way to first place with a time of 1:51.82.
  • Conable finished his three-first place finishes with the 200-yard IM. Conable swam his way to a third win with a time of 1:54.12.
  
Women's Last Time Out
  • The Red Foxes won their first MAAC meet of the season against Canisius 170-124.
  • Eydis Kolbeinsdottir and Rae Dodson led the Red Foxes with two first-place finishes in the win against Canisius.
    • Kolbeinsdottir finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.69) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.92).
    • Dodson finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.27) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.62).
  • Maddie Healey dominated the 1000-yard freestyle, earning a first-place finish in the process. Healey finished the swim with a time of 10:56.88, finishing in front of teammate Bridget Rynkiewicz as she finished with a time of 11:05.29.
  • Lizzie Rebich earned her first win as a Red Fox in the 200-yard butterfly. Rebich finished in first-place with a time of 2:11.50, in front of her teammate who finished second, Melanie Nunn, with a time of 2:12.23.
  • Anna Hoskovec earned her first Red Foxes first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:14.53.
  • Emme Metzmaker also recorded her first Red Foxes win with a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.28.
  
Men's Last Time Out
  • The men's team triumphed in its first MAAC meet of the season against Canisius 154-117.
  • Kellen Fletcher swam his way to a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Fletcher finished with a time of 1:54.82, which earned the Red Foxes nine points.
  • Adrian Bankowski tallied his first win of the season in the 50-yard freestyle. Bankowski's first-place finish timed in at 21.30.
  • Bankowski double-downed with a second first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. Bankowski swam to a time of 46.65, which earned him two wins in the freestyle swims.
  • Sophomores Oscar Bjering and Adam Zaremba placed first and second in the 500-yard freestyle. Bjering finished first with a time of 4:50.03 and Zaremba recorded a second-place finish with a time of 4:53.79.
  
Scouting Rider
  • The Broncs men's team enters the meet at 0-2 overall and will compete in their first MAAC meet of the 2024-25 season.
    • The Broncs fell to Seton Hall in their first meet 183-107.
    • The Broncs dropped a meet to Lehigh in their second meet 155.5-138.5.
    • Last season, the Broncs finished third overall at the 2024 MAAC Championships.
    • The men's team was picked third in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • The Broncs women's team enters the meet at 0-2 overall, competing in their first MAAC meet against the Red Foxes.
    • The Broncs fell to both Seton Hall (179-106) and Lehigh (216.5-79.5) in their first two meets.
    • Last season, the Broncs finished eighth overall at the 2024 MAAC Championships.
    • The women's team was picked eighth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
