POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference released its MAAC Weekly Awards for water polo, Wednesday afternoon. The Red Foxes sophomore goaltender, Inés Sánchez, won MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for an impressive weekend in net.

Inés Sánchez had a dominant weekend in net at the Convergence Tournament. Sanchez tallied 14 saves in the match against CSUN.

Sánchez recorded 10 saves against fifth ranked UC Irvine, and a season-high 18 saves in the win against Cal Baptist.

Sánchez' Weekly Award marks the first MAAC Weekly Award earned by the Red Foxes water polo team.

The Red Foxes travel to Greece for exhibition matches during spring break.
