POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist swim and dive program is set for its first meet of 2025 against Lehigh at the McCann Natatorium, Saturday afternoon.

The meet is slated for 1 p.m. and streamed on Red Fox Network.

The men's team looks to stay undefeated, going a perfect 5-0 during 2024 and 3-0 in MAAC play. In their last meet of 2024, the Red Foxes defeated Colgate 158-98.

The women's team is set to continue its outstanding season, finishing 2024 with a 3-2 record and 2-1 MAAC record. The Red Foxes finished 2024 with a 180-115 win against Colgate at the McCann Natatorium.

The Red Foxes finished the 2024 season at the Patriot Invitational, where the men's team placed fourth (seven total teams) and the women's team placed sixth.
 

First Half Record Breakers

• April Avila had a record-setting meet at the Patriot Invitational. Avila set a new Marist and MAAC record in the 100-yard breaststroke. Avila broke the school record in the preliminary race of the 100-yard breaststroke with a new time of 1:01.66, placing her first in the heat.
  • In the final heat, Avila set a new MAAC record, and broke her own school record, with a time of 1:00.94. Avila placed first in the final heat in the Patriot Invitational.
• James Conable also had a record-setting weekend at the Patriot Invitational. Conable set the new Marist program record in the 200-yard IM finals at the Invitational. Conable placed first in the finals, and setting a new program record with a time of 1:47.13.
• Caden Hardy set the Marist school record in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Patriot Invitational. Hardy swam his way to a time of 2:00.41, which set the school record in the swim.
• Rounding out the Patriot Invitational, Kellen Fletcher set the school record in the 200-yard butterfly. Fletcher swam his way to a time of 1:48.50, which placed him second overall in the finals of the event.

 

Scouting Lehigh Men

• The Lehigh men's team enters the meet at 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League.
• The Red Foxes hold a 4-3 overall record all-time against the Mountain Hawks. In their 2023-24 season meet, the Red Foxes won in thrilling fashion 140-139.
• The Mountain Hawks have faced one MAAC opponent entering the match, defeating Rider 115.5-138.5 in their opening meet of the season.

 

Scouting Lehigh Women

• The Lehigh women's team enters the meet at 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League.
• The Red Foxes hold a 5-3 overall record all-time against the Mountain Hawks. Last season, the Red Foxes fell in the meet against Lehigh 192.5-105.5.
• The Mountain Hawks defeated Rider in their opening meet of the season 216.5-79.5.
