WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia- The Marist baseball team played a doubleheader against William & Mary to begin the three-game series. The Red Foxes fell in both games against the Tribe, Saturday afternoon.
The Red Foxes moved to 0-6 overall on the 2024 season.
- In the top-half of the first inning, the Red Foxes took an early 1-0 lead against the Tribe. Noel Rivera scored on a wild pitch, which gave the Red Foxes the lead.
- In the bottom-half of the first inning, William & Mary equaled the game at 1-1 with a sacrifice fly.
- The run was unearned for the Tribe.
- The game featured a pitching duel and left the second, third, and fourth inning scoreless between the Red Foxes and Tribe.
- In the top-half of the fifth inning, the Red Foxes took a late lead with three runs on four hits.
- Lewis Rodriguez recorded a single and put runners at first and third with no outs.
- The Red Foxes took the lead on an RBI single from Noel Rivera, which scored Jason Claiborn.
- Later in the inning, Aydan McNelly added to the Red Foxes lead with an RBI single. McNelly's single scored Rodriguez, which gave the Red Foxes a 3-1 lead.
