POMONA, New York- The Marist baseball team fought off elimination for a third consecutive day, Friday evening. The Red Foxes triumphed against Sacred Heart, 9-7, led by a combined five RBIs from
Zach Donahue and
Jason Claiborn.
Donahue led the offense with a homer and three RBIs, while Claiborn added a single, a homer, and two RBIs in the victory.
The Red Foxes will play Quinnipiac in an elimination game on Saturday, May 24. The first pitch is at 3 p.m.

- Zach Donahue gave the Red Foxes an early 3-0 lead in the top-half of the first inning with a three-run home run.
- Noel Rivera extended the Red Foxes lead in the top-half of the second inning with an RBI double to push the lead to 4-1.
- Nathan Lincoln gave Marist a 5-4 lead in the fourth with an RBI single.
- After a Sacred Heart error in the field, Marist scored a run on the play to cut the deficit to 7-6 in the eighth.
- Later in the inning, Jason Claiborn launched a two-run homer to give Marist an 8-7 lead entering the bottom of the inning.
- Drew McGowan delivered an RBI single in the top of the ninth to extend the Marist lead to 9-7.
