Bats Stay Hot as Marist Baseball Takes Down Rutgers

The Red Foxes Beat the Scarlet Knights on Tuesday Evening

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey – Marist Baseball took on Rutgers on Tuesday evening where they won 10-3 behind an explosive offensive performance. The Red Foxes advance to 14-20 overall on the season.
 
SUMMARY
  • Rutgers took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning with a solo homerun.
  • The Red Foxes power through in the top of the sixth inning, scoring four runs to take a 4-1 lead.
    • Kyle Pollack tied the game with an RBI single.
    • Brady Steinert kept the line moving with another RBI single.
    • Chris Diaz kept the inning going with the third RBI single of the top of the sixth.
    • Luis Cedeno brought in the fourth run on an RBI groundout.
  • In the bottom of the seventh, the Scarlet Knights score two runs to cut the lead to one.
  • Marist bats got hot, scoring six runs in the top of the eighth to make it 10-3.
