FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Marist University women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end on Saturday evening with a 17-7 loss at Fairfield.
The Red Foxes finish the 2026 campaign 4-12 overall and 3-5 in MAAC play.
Junior attack Kathryn Staker led Marist with two goals and one assist. Sophomore midfielder Amelia Pirozzi added two goals, while senior attack Jesse Manger recorded one goal and three assists. Senior captain midfielder Caitlin McNaboe and junior midfielder Madison Leale each scored once.
- Pirozzi opened the scoring at 13:03 to give Marist an early lead.
- Fairfield responded with three straight goals to take a 3-1 advantage before Staker converted a woman-up opportunity at 8:15 off an assist from sophomore midfield/attack Gabby Kingston.
- The Stags answered with a woman-down goal at 7:31, but McNaboe brought the Red Foxes back within one at 4:20 on an assist from Manger to make it 4-3.
- Fairfield struck less than a minute into the quarter and added another at 13:26 to extend its lead to 6-3.
- The Stags continued their run with three more goals to take a 9-3 advantage into halftime.
- Fairfield opened the second half with a goal at 14:06 to push the lead to 10-3.
- Leale answered with a woman-up goal at 6:45 off an assist from Manger.
- After a Fairfield goal at 2:44, Manger found the back of the net at 2:10 off a feed from Staker.
- Pirozzi added her second goal of the game at 0:28, assisted by Manger, to make it 11-6 entering the fourth.
- Fairfield extended its lead with three goals early in the quarter, including a free-position score, to take a 14-6 advantage.
- The Stags added two woman-up goals at 7:44 and 5:28 to push the margin to 16-6.
- Staker scored her second goal of the game at 2:18 off an assist from freshman defender Lyle Brown, but Fairfield answered with a late goal to secure the 17-7 win.
