McCormac is a five-time YMCA State Champion and a two-year competitor at YMCA Nationals. He is the fastest swimmer in East Hampton High School history, and made the state championships his senior season. He was named the tenth best swimmer at the Federation Championship with a 50-yard freestyle relay time of 21.15, 100-yard freestyle time of 46.23 and 200-yard freestyle time of 1:42.00. He was captain of both his varsity and club team during his time at East Hampton.
