2012-13: Team Captain... MAAC All-Academic Team… Finished 32^nd in the ECAC preliminary round of the 200 yard IM competition… Finished 26^th in the 200 yard breaststroke race in the preliminary round.

2011-12: MAAC All-Academic Team ... Did not compete at the MAAC or ECAC Championships due to an injury suffered mid-season.

2010-11: MAAC All-Academic Team ... Finished in eighth place in the A - Final at the MAAC Championship in the 400-yd individual medley with a time of 4:13.04 ... Earned a 14th place result in the 200-yd IM with a time of 1:57.73 ... Finished in 15th place in the 200-yd breaststroke with a time of 2:13.75 ... A member of the 200- and 400-yd medley relay teams at the championship ... Swam in 400-yd individual medley at the ECAC Championship and finished tenth overall with a time of 4:07.92 ... Missed qualifying for the B - Final in the 200-yd IM by .29 seconds with his time of 1:57.06 ... Competed in 200-yd breaststroke event and registered a time of 2:13.69 ... A member of the 200- and 400-yd medley relay teams.

2009-10: During the MAAC Championships, Shannon finished the 400-yd. IM in 4:13.43 to earn fifth place ... Raced as a member of the 400-yd. medley relay team that earned sixth in a time of 3:32.41 ... Part of the 200-yd. medley relay team that finished in 1:36.67 for sixth place ... Took 14th in the 200-yd. breaststroke with a 2:13.92 finish ... Raced at the ECAC Championships as well ... Earned 11th with a time of 4:13.61 in the 400-yd. IM ... Raced as a member of the 12th place 200-yd. medley relay team that finished in 1:37.25.

Prior To Marist: Shannon was a four-time letterman in swimming at Chaminade high school in Nassau County on Long Island. He was a co-captain during his senior season and also competed for the Long Island Aquatic Club Team. Shannon was a two-time state qualifier for the boys' high school swimming championships in the 200-yd. individual medley, the 100-yd. breaststroke and the 4 x 100-yd. freestyle relay. Scholastically, he was named the most improved swimmer after his junior season at Chaminade and was a regular member of the honor roll and National Honor Society.

Personal: Shannon comes from a trail of Marist family members. His father John graduated in 1980, while his sister Megan graduates in 2010.
