Marist Record Book: 1650-Yard Freestyle (15:29.81), 800-Yard Freestyle (6:37.23)

2017-18: MAAC All-Academic Team, MAAC Champion 1650-yard Freestyle, MAAC Swimmer of the Week (1/17/18)...Swam the 500- and 1650- yard freestyle and 200 yard- backstroke at MAAC Championships...Finished third in the 200 yard back (1:49.36), second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:27.11) and first in the 1650-freestyle (15:29.81)...Placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle at ECAC Championships...Named Swimmer of the meet at H2ounds invitational after picking up wins in the 200-yard backstroke and 500-yard and 1650-yard freestyle. 

2016-17: Competed in four events at the MAAC Championships, including the 500-, 1000-, and 1650-yard freestyle... Finished second in the 1000- (9:20.44) and 1650-yard freestyle (15:36.44)... Won the 1000-yard freestyle in three home dual meets: Canisius (Oct. 14), Rider (Oct. 29), and Southern Connecticut State (Jan. 10).

Prior to Marist: In his senior year of high school Nilsson swam to a time of 16:02.39 at the 20th Annual TYR Holiday Classic. During the regular season he dropped eight seconds from his personal best time in the 200-yard backstroke and competed in the 2016 NCSA Junior Nationals meet in Orlando. Nilsson also maintained a GPA high enough for the Principal’s List.
