Biography
2016-17: Competed in four events in the MAAC Championships, including the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke, and the 400-yard individual medley... Finished first in her 50-yard freestyle heat at the MAAC Championships.
Prior to Marist:Â
A team captain her junior and senior seasons at Cypress Bay High School, Barreto was a top five qualifier at the BCAA Swimming and Diving Championship and took third place in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2016 Miami Open Water Championships. She finished as a district, regional, and state qualifier for the Florida High School Athletic Association Championships and has been swimming competitively with Azura Florida Aquatics for more than nine years. Academically, Barreto was an active member of the Spanish and National Honor Societies and the National Society of High School Scholars. She was an AP Scholar with Honors and has contributed more than 500 hours of community service to her hometown, primarily to non-profit organizations that focus on families and children with needs.
