Kristy Nix is entering her first season as Marist's Coordinator of Club Sports, Intramurals and Camps.
Her responsibilities will entail managing the budget, transportation, equipment and scheduling of Marist's nine club sports. She will also be overseeing all aspects of the intramural program.
Nix spent the last three years at Stony Brook University where she was a member of the coaching staff for the women's basketball team as well as Coordinator of Athletics and Summer Camps. As coordinator, her responsibilities included monitoring all aspects of athletics summer camps and clinic operations including dining services, housing, billing and schedules.
Prior to her time at Stony Brook, Nix was a Tournament and Special Events Coordinator at The International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. where she served as the liaison with sponsor representatives and facilitated sponsor packages.
Nix received her Master's degree in Liberal Arts from Stony Brook in 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from Rhode Island College in 2007 where she played three years on the varsity basketball and volleyball teams. She was a two-time captain and MVP of the volleyball team and holds the school record for kills in a season (478) and is second in career kills (1,032).
Originally from East Setauket, N.Y., Nix now lives in Poughkeepsie
