Marist Mourns Passing Of Long-Time Supporter & Red Fox Club Member Jack Healey

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.The Marist Athletics Department is mourning the loss of one of its ardent supporters, Jack Healey.

Jack was a long-time friend, fan and supporter of Marist Athletics and contributed in many capacities during his long-standing affiliation with the Red Fox Club. Soon after the Club was founded in 1981, Jack served on the organization’s Board of Directors. Jack’s generous support throughout the years of the Poughkeepsie-Auto Dealers Classic and Tony Antenucci Memorial Golf Tournament helped the Red Fox Club generate thousands of dollars to support Marist’s student-athletes.

“As a former standout in collegiate athletics, Jack could truly appreciate the hard work and dedication displayed by our student-athletes and coaches,” Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray said. “Jack was a true gentleman, who was always willing to support our efforts. On behalf of the entire Marist Athletics Department and Red Fox Club, we extend our deepest condolences to the Healey family. Jack will be sorely missed by all of us.”

In addition to his generosity, Jack did many things behind the scenes with no fanfare or recognition to help support the Red Fox Club. In recognition for his significant contributions and dedication, the Red Fox Club recently honored Jack with a block “M” during halftime of a basketball game.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 14 at Sweet's Funeral Home in Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15 at Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park.

Condolences can be offered to the family at www.sweetsfuneralhome.com.
