Alex Adkins is in his second year as Compliance Assistant for Marist College.
A former Compliance Intern with the Athletic Department of Georgetown University in Washington D.C., Alex relocated to Poughkeepsie from Arlington, Virginia, where he also worked for the Arlington County Parks and Recreation Department while pursuing his Master’s Degree in Georgetown’s Sports Industry Management Program with a concentration in Business, Management, and Operations. While in the D.C. area, he also facilitated a grassroots marketing position with the MLS Soccer team, DC United, and worked as an intern with Most Valuable Kids, a non-profit that offers children’s organizations access to professional/collegiate sports and entertainment events.
Prior to Georgetown, Alex served as a Marketing Intern with the Dayton (Ohio) Dutch Lions of soccer’s Premier Development League and an Event Specialist for Vandalia Parks and Recreation, following his graduation from Saint Joseph’s College of Rensselaer, Indiana.
In 2011, Alex graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from St. Joe’s, where he was a 4-year member of the men’s varsity soccer team as well as 4-time recipient of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Academic All-Conference Award and served as a team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). As an undergrad, he also served as the school’s Campus Ministry Student Marketing Director as well as a Sports Marketing Intern with Samaritan’s Feet International.
Alex is a member of The National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC).
