Grace LaCapra returns to Marist Athletics as an assistant coach for the cross country and track & field programs after a decorated career as a Red Fox student-athlete.
LaCapra competed for Marist in both cross country and track & field, serving as a team captain and providing leadership and mentorship to younger members of the program. During her time as a Red Fox, she gained experience in training principles, race preparation and goal setting while also assisting with team organization and operations.
A 2026 graduate of Marist University, LaCapra earned her Bachelor of Arts in Math-Adolescent/Special Education with a minor in Psychology. She graduated magna cum laude with a 3.925 GPA and was recognized as a MAAC All-Academic selection, Dean's List honoree and member of Chi Alpha Sigma. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Adolescent/Special Education (Math) at Marist.
LaCapra also brings coaching experience to her new role, having served as a camp counselor at Ridge Track & Field Camp from 2022-25. In that position, she instructed young athletes in the fundamentals of track & field, led drills and event-specific instruction, and emphasized skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship.
In addition to her athletic and coaching background, LaCapra has gained extensive experience working with and mentoring students through her education fieldwork and tutoring. Her background includes work with students across a variety of grade levels and learning environments, providing both small-group and one-on-one support.
Now back with the Red Foxes as a member of the coaching staff, LaCapra will bring her firsthand experience as a Marist student-athlete, leadership skills and passion for athlete development to the cross country and track & field programs.
