Biography
- Placed 5th in the 2nd Varsity 8 at the Head of the Fish
- Placed 1st in the 2nd Varsity 8 at the President’s Cup
- Placed 2nd in the 2nd Varsity 8 at the NIRC
- Placed 2nd in the Varsity 4+ at the Fall Metro
- Placed 2nd in the Varsity 8+ at the Fall Metro
To kick off the Spring season, he competed with the Varsity Eight at the Sacred Heart Invitational on April 7, where the crew finished third to beat both Iona and Fairfield. At the Knecht Cup on April 12, he and the Second Varsity Eight Boat “B” placed fifth with a time of 6:32.06, defeating La Salle while being .2 seconds away from qualifying for the petite final. As the Red Foxes retained the President’s Cup, Wiles-Lafayette and the Third Varsity Eight placed second for Marist with a time of 5:13.00. At the New York State Championships, he and the Third Varsity Eight placed second for the Red Foxes with a time of 7:06.08. To close out the season, Marist placed seventh at the ECAC Championships, where the Third Varsity Eight placed third overall in the Grand Finals in 6:26.023.
Wiles-Lafayette was a four-sport letterman throughout high school...He played Varsity football for all four years, being named Captain in his seior season...Wiles-Lafayette was also named All-League as well as All-New England in 2012...He also played Varsity basketball, being named captain in the 2012-13 season...Wiles-Lafayette also competed for the Varsity track team for one year in 2012-13...He competed for crew all four years, participating as a Varsity athlete for three of them...Wiles-Lafayette and his team earned the 4+ Public School State Championship in 2012.
