Biography
2013-14: MAAC All-Academic Team, Second Varsity Eight Boat of the Week (4/16, 4/23)...He took third place with the Second Varsity Eight Boat “A” at the Knecht Cup on April 12. The crew finished their heat in first place, and went on to finish in the Grand Finals with a time of 6:11.98, placing ahead of Bucknell, Delaware Lwt, and Trinity. As the Red Foxes retained the President’s Cup this season, Heaton and the Second Varsity Eight took first place with a time of 5:02.00. The Red Foxes claimed their 13th consecutive MAAC Championship title, as he and the Second Varsity Eight claimed a first-place finish, posting a time of 6:00.23 to edge Jacksonville by just two seconds. At the New York State Championships, he and the Second Varsity Eight had a successful day in the finals, placing second with a time of 6:39.12. To close out the season, Marist placed seventh at the ECAC Championships, where the Second Varsity Eight placed fourth in the Grand Finals with a time of 6:08.739.
Prior to Marist: Heaton was the 2010 Poughkeepsie Journal Crew All-Star...He also received the 2010 Our Lady of Lourdes Physics Achievement Award...In 2009, Heaton was named the Our Lady of Lourdes Crew MVP.
