2013-14: MAAC Varsity Four Boat of the Year...To kick off the Spring season, he competed with the Varsity Eight at the Sacred Heart Invitational on April 7, where the crew finished third to beat both Iona and Fairfield. At the Knecht Cup on April 12, Cabello and the Second Varsity Eight Boat “B” placed fifth with a time of 6:32.06, defeating La Salle while being .2 seconds away from qualifying for the petite final. As the Red Foxes retained the President’s Cup, the Third Varsity Eight placed second for Marist with a time of 5:13.00. He was also a part of the first-place Novice Four boat that finished with a time of 7:12.40 as the Red Foxes claimed its 13th consecutive MAAC Championship title. At the New York State Championships, Cabello and the Third Varsity Eight placed second for the Red Foxes with a time of 7:06.08. To close out the season, Marist placed seventh at the ECAC Championships, where the Third Varsity Eight placed third overall in the Grand Finals in 6:26.023.
