- At the H2ounds Invitational, was a member of the 800-yard Freestyle Relay team that finished in eighth place.
- Placed top-15 in the 200-yard Freestyle at the H2ounds Invitational.

Thompson is a product of Kinnelon, NJ, and graduated from Kinnelon High School. He comes to Poughkeepsie after finishing his career with the Lakeland Hills YMCA. He was also a National Team member in 2019 and 2020. While swimming for the national team, his best performance came in the 1500 LC, where he placed 16th. In high school, he was the captain of his swim team his junior and senior seasons. The highlight of Thompson's high school career came when he qualified for the New Jersey State Meet of Champions in 2019. He followed that up by qualifying again for the same meet in 2020.
