2014-15: MAAC Swimmer of the Week (10/29)... Finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:49.30) with the second fastest time in program history and fifth in the 200-yard IM (1:52.28) with the fourth fastest time in program history at the MAAC Championships... Finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (49.84 seconds) at the MAAC Championships... Member of the second place 400-yard medley relay team (3:22.99).
2013-14: Posted top 10 finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and 400-yard IM at the MAAC Championships with times of 52.07 seconds and 4:10.39, respectively... Completed the 100-yard backstroke in 51.92 seconds at the ECAC Championships to finish 10th... Finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.16), third in the 100-yard backstroke (54.23 seconds) and fourth in the 200-yard IM (2:00.88) vs. Boston College.
2012-13: At the ECAC Finals, finished 10th in the “B” final of the 100-yard backstroke competition... A member of the 200-yard medley relay team along with with teammates Nicholas Vandermolen, Jason Ruddy and John Spitzer, all of whom placed first at the MAAC and ECAC Championships... Finished first in the 100-yard backstroke and as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team and second in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM against Canisius... Finished first as a member of the 400- and 200-yard medley relay teams and in the 200-yard backstroke against Fordham... Finished second in the 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard IM against Fordham... 2011-12: In his first-ever MAAC Championships, competed in three Championship finals: the 100- and 200-yd backstrokes and the 400-yard IM... Earned two fourth place finishes: 4:06.78 in the IM and 1:52.04 in the 200-yard backstroke... Finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke at 52.37 seconds... In relay action, he participated on the fourth place 200-yard medley team at 1:34.50... Finished second in the 100-yard backstroke and third in the 200-yard backstroke and IM against Army... Member of the third place 400-yard medley relay team against Fordham... Finished third in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke and second as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team against Rider... At the ECAC Championships, raced in three Consolation Finals with a 10th place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, his best time being 1:52.41... Completed the 400-yd IM with a time of 4:07.10, good for 11th place, and the 100-yard backstroke in 52.50 seconds for 13th place... A member of the eighth place 200-yard medley relay team, who timed in at 1:34.98.
Prior to Marist: Cummings graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, N.J. A four-year participant on his high school's varsity swim team, he earned All-League honors every season as well as All-County nods in his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. During the 2009-2010 season he qualified for High School All-American status in the 100-yard backstroke. In club action he competed with the Wyckoff (N.J.) YMCA Sharks. Since 2007 he has qualified for YMCA Nationals in a minimum of three disciplines and lengths per year with backstroke, breaststroke and IM being most popular.
