• Came in second in the 200-yard butterfly at the H2ounds Invitational (1:56.11) and at Southern Connecticut State (1:56.77)
• Finished fourth in the 1,000- (9:30.89) and 1,650-yard (15:56.93) freestyle events at the MAAC Championships
• Competed in four events at the ECAC Championships, finishing ninth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:08.29)

Prior to Marist: Basalo was a six-time state qualifier, competing in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle and 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays for Belen Jesuit High School. His best event was the 500-yard freestyle, in which he was a two-time state finalist and earned Second Team All-County in 2013 and 2014. A team captain in 2014, Basalo was named First Team All-County in the 4x100-yard freestyle relay.
