General

Sallam is also a relative of a current member of the team, as he joins his older brother Ahmed Sallam for the 2020-21 season. Sief Sallam is transferring to Marist as a sophomore from the Arab Academy of Science. Like his brother, Sief was also a member of the Egyptian National Swimming Team, while also swimming for El-Ahly Sporting Club in Egypt. For his club team, he was awarded the best swimmer in the championship events in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and had top times in the championship events in 2011, 2012, and 2014. In 2018, Sief won three gold medals while swimming for the Egyptian National Team, and went on to win four more gold medals at the Cairo Zone Championships in 2019. This past year, he was a part of the 400-meter free relay team that took first place in the open age group at the Cairo Zone Championships. He was also a member of the Egyptian National Volleyball Team.
