Prior to Marist: During her sophomore and junior seasons at Unionville High School, Astarita was a member of a defensive backfield that led the program to two consecutive state semifinals, including an undefeated run in 2009. She earned Academic All-American and Second Team All-League honors and participated in the 2010 Under Armour Underclassmen Games with Team Philadelphia. She also letterd in cross country and indoor track while being a member of the National Honor Society.
