Nicole Troost enters her fourth season on the Marist coaching staff working with the Red Foxes' attackers and draw control specialists. During the 2019 season, Troost guided Hailey Wagner and Samantha Mehalick to record breaking seasons. Wagner broke the NCAA single season draw control record with 224 draws on the season. Mehalick broke the school scoring record and MAAC single season goal record with 79. Against Manhattan in the MAAC Quarterfinal, Mehalick scored 11 goals. Only one other player in the history of the NCAA has scored more goals in a single game than Mehalick.

In her second season, Troost was instrumental in creating a potent Marist offense that featured All-MAAC First Team member Morgan Jaycox, All-MAAC Second Team members Samantha Mehalick and Hailey Wagner and All-MAAC Rookie Team member Kelly George. Under her tutelage, Mehalick broke the single season record for goals scored. Troost also aided Hailey Wagner to season where she lead the nation in draw controls per game with 8.82.

During her first season, Troost helped senior Olivia Pitonzo earn a spot on the All-MAAC First Team and freshman Samantha Mehalick make the conference's All-Rookie Team.

Troost came to Poughkeepsie with three years of coaching experience at the club level. She served under Head Coach KC Knobloch, helping lead the South Jersey Select.

During her collegiate playing days at University of Massachusetts Amherst, Troost was an Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team selection as a junior and broke out offensively her senior year to earn a spot on the All-Conference First Team. Despite missing part of her final season due to injury, she tied for the team lead with 42 goals for the Minutewomen.

A three-time All-County, All-South Jersey, All-State, and All American recipient at Shawnee High School, Troost is also the program's all-time leading scorer with 220 goals.

Troost earned a bachelor's degree in communications from University of Massachusetts in 2016. She is originally from Medford, New Jersey.
