Prior to Marist: Bucher was a four-year varsity athlete in field hockey and lacrosse. She was one of eight athletes from Ludlowe High School selected to a State Athletic Leadership Conference in 2016. As a junior, she was an All-FCIAC Honorable Mention. As a senior, she was selected to the All-FCIAC Second Team, was selected to the All-State First Team, and was named Team Captain.
