Guinan enters her second year as an assistant coach for the Marist women’s rowing program.
 
Guinan started her rowing career at Arlington High School. She rowed in the fall and spring there, and for the Hudson River Rowing Association over the summer. In 2001, the team earned a USRowing Club National bronze medal, and in 2002, they won the Championship. She was named Captain for the 2003 season.
 
During her time at Dutchess Community College, she was the Assistant Girls Varsity Coach at Our Lady of Lourdes High School. She led the girls to a bronze medal finish at the SRAA National Championship and multiple medals at the New York State Championship.
