Perugini joins the Red Foxes out of Southington High School. While there, she was named to the Central Connecticut Conference's All-conference Team three times. She was a CCC Champion in the 50-yard free and the 100-yard free in 2019, and served as a team captain as a senior. She holds two school records, in the 200-yard free relay as well as the 400-yard free relay. Perugini also played softball and field hockey in high school. She finished in the top 20 of her graduating class, was on the honor roll for all four years of high school, and was involved in National Honor Society and World Language Honor Society
