2016-17: MAAC Women’s Co-Outstanding Swimmer, MAAC Champion: 50- (23.49 seconds) and 100-Yard Freestyle (51.95 seconds), 4x MAAC Swimmer of the Week (10/26, 12/7, 1/18, 2/1), 4x CSCAA Conference Swimmer of the Week (10/18, 12/6, 1/31), MAAC All-Academic Team... Finished in first place in all of her events in four regular season matchups... Competed in three events at the MAAC Championships, placing first in the 50- (23.49) and 100-yard freestyle (51.81) and finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.28)... Competed in four events at the ECAC Championships, placing fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (51.49 seconds) and fifth as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay squad (7:38.75).
2015-16: ECAC Swimmer of the Week (2/24), MAAC Championships Swimmer of the Meet, 2x MAAC Swimmer of the Week (1/20, 2/3), MAAC All-Academic Team... Won at least one event in all but two meets during the regular season... Broke three school records at the MAAC Championships, including her own mark from last season in the 50-yard freestyle (23.48 seconds). Also anchored the record setting 800-yard freestyle (7:29.41) and 400-yard medley relay squads (3:47.35)... At the MAAC Championships, was a member of the 200- (1:35.09) and 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:27.63). Individually, won the 100- (51.27 seconds) and 200-yard freestyle (1:51.88) events... At the ECAC Championships, ended up sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (23.63 seconds) and eighth in the 100-yard freestyle (51.20 seconds).    Â
2014-15: 2x MAAC Swimmer of the Week (11/19, 1/14), MAAC All-Academic Team... Wurtz earned MAAC Swimmer of the Week honors after winning the first two events of the season against Canisius: the 50-yard freestyle (24.56 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (53.01 seconds)... Her second MAAC Swimmer of the Week honor came after placing first in the 50- (24.86 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle against Southern Connecticut State (53.75 seconds)... During the MAAC Championships, Wurtz earned third place finishes in the 50- (23.52 seconds), 100- (51.46 seconds), and 200-yard freestyle events (1:52.64)... Member of four relay teams at the MAAC Championships, taking first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:34.95), 400-yard medley relay (3:49.22) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:28.05) as well as second in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:39.11)... At the ECAC Championships, she placed 10th with a time of 51.90 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.
2013-14: At the MAAC Championships, was a member of the record setting 200-yard freestyle relay team that placed first with a time of 1:34.32... Finished fourth in the 50- and 200-yard freestyle events with times of 23.77 and 1:54.91 respectively... Placed second in the 800-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay with times of 7:42.06 and 1:44.75 respectively... Finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.13 and concluded the Championships with a first place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:28.29... Competed at the ECAC Championships, finishing second in the 800-yard freestyle relay... Finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay, fifth in the 200-yard medley relay, fifth in the 100-yard freestyle and 10th in the 50-yard freestyle.
Prior to Marist: A record-setting sprinter from the William Penn Charter school, Wurtz finds her name listed next to four of the fastest times in school history. She set a new record in the 50-yard freestyle, breaking a mark that had stood since 1998. Wurtz served as her squad’s captain and was named MVP. During her final three years of competition she was awarded the All-Interacademic Athletic Association Swimming Award. Outside of school she competed with the Penn Charter Aquatics Club.
