Biography
- 2024 graduate of Cornwall Central High School, where she played soccer, lacrosse, and track.
- Career highlights include competing at Nationals and setting records in the 4x400m, SMR, 4x100m, and 4x400m relay events.
- Daughter of Liza and John Mellon.
- Her father, John, played baseball and soccer at Mount St. Mary’s.
- Her mother, Liza, played softball at New Paltz.
- Has an older brother, Connor, and two older sisters, Taylor and Ava.
- Community service projects include: Make-A-Wish program, Lab 4Life, fundraiser for COVID relief, Lia’s Legacy, middle school dance volunteer, and Safe Harbors for Newburgh.
- Has been passionate about helping others from a young age.
- Outside of track, enjoys coloring, hiking, paddleboarding, and swimming.
- During her junior year, ran both track and soccer in the same season before deciding to focus solely on track her senior year. She was initially hesitant to start track, as lacrosse and soccer were the sports she was most familiar with, but her soccer coach encouraged her to try track.
