Alexa Attanasio joined the Marist Athletics Department in June 2024 as the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and Camps.
Alexa holds an A.S. in Exercise Science from Dutchess Community College and a B.S. in Sport Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Administration from SUNY Cortland. During her undergraduate years, she gained extensive experience in athletics, interning with Marist in basketball game operations (Winter 2022) and facilities (Summer 2023), game day operations with Syracuse University’s football/volleyball teams, and SUNY Cortland’s men’s/women’s hockey programs.
While at Cortland, she was also a member of the Cortland Dance Company’s competitive team, serving as a Captain, Vice President, and choreographer. Her choreography received multiple overall awards at the collegiate level, and she also taught locally at Cortland Performing Arts Institute, working with dancers of all ages and levels.
A Hudson Valley native, Alexa grew up a competitive dancer in Poughkeepsie, NY. After graduating from Arlington High School in 2020, she continued instructing both recreational and competitive dancers at her home studio and earned her Acrobatic Arts certification. In 2017, she proudly represented the United States with the American Tap Company at the IDO World Championships in Riesa, Germany.
These experiences deepened Alexa’s passion for student development and campus involvement, making her excited to now serve the community that helped shape her.
