Jesse Marsh is in his third season with the Marist baseball program.
This season, his responsibilities include assisting in recruiting efforts, working with the Red Foxes’ catchers and hitters, and overseeing the team’s strength and conditioning program.
Marsh came to Marist after working for two seasons as an assistant coach at LIU Brooklyn. There, he was responsible for working defensively with the infielders and assisted with other aspects of the program, working with the hitters and recruiting. At New Paltz, Marsh was the lead assistant in charge of recruiting, hitting and the infielders. Marsh was an integral part of the re-building the Hawk program which saw the program have two .500 or better season which New Paltz had only achieved four other times since 1990 (Marsh was player on one of those teams)
Marsh has also coached with the Newburgh Nuclears, an American Legion club that competes in the summer months, for four seasons. In the summer of 2015, he was an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters of the Northwoods League.
As a student-athlete at New Paltz, he competed from 2007-08, serving as team captain during his senior year. He ranks second all-time in single-season assists with 90 and also started in all 40 of the Hawks’ contests in 2008. Prior to New Paltz, Marsh played for two years at Dutchess Community College.
A Marlboro, N.Y., native, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education in 2009.
