The 2027 season marks Matt Gonzales' first year on the Marist Baseball Coaching staff
Gonzales will work with the pitchers as the assistant pitching coach to Niko Amory.
Prior to joining the Red Foxes, Gonzales began his coaching career with the Glen Falls Dragons of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2024 and 25. Following his time with the Dragons, he was the pitching coach for Hudson Valley Community College in the 2025-26 Season.
Gonzales redshirted for UAlbany in 2017 before transferring to Herkimer Community College, where he played two seasons. At Herkimer, he helped lead the team to two NJCAA World Series appearances in 2018 and 2019. Following this, he transferred to Barton College, where he spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons before finishing his collegiate career at Hofstra in 2022.
Gonzales graduated from Barton College in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, followed by an Exercise Science Master's degree in 2022 from Hofstra.
Gonzales is a native of Scotia, New York, where he attended Scotia-Glenville Senior High School.
