Mike Ferraro is in his 17th year guiding the Sports Information Department at Marist in the 2023-24 school year. He was promoted to Assistant AD/Sports Information in September 2016.
Ferraro supervises publicity efforts for Marist's 23 Division I sports, and currently serves as the primary contact for the Red Foxes' football, men's basketball, and softball teams. He has previously served as the contact for Marist's baseball and men's and women's cross country and track & field programs.Â
Additionally, Ferraro provided color analysis on Marist football broadcasts from 2003-13. From 2000-07, he was the play-by-play voice of the Marist women's basketball team. He has broadcast Marist baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, and women's lacrosse at MAAC Championships. He also provided play-by-play for men's lacrosse NCAA Tournament games in 2015 and 2019. Between his time as a broadcaster and in Marist's Sports Information office, Ferraro has covered the Red Foxes in 15 NCAA Tournament appearances - 10 for women's basketball, two for baseball, two for men's lacrosse, and one for softball. Â
Ferraro served as the primary official scorer for the Hudson Valley Renegades from 2009-21. The Renegades became a Class High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees in 2021 after previously being a short-season Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ferraro served as Marist's Interim Sports Information Director for the 2007-08 season. In the 2006-07 year, Ferraro was Assistant Sports Information Director at Marist. He was the primary contact for the women's basketball team, which was the first basketball team in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history to advance to the Sweet 16. Additionally, he was the contact for the men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's rowing teams.
Prior to his arrival at Marist, Ferraro worked for the Poughkeepsie Journal sports department. His work there lasted from 2001-06, and included stints as an intern, free-lance writer and copy editor, part-time sports reporter and full-time sports reporter and copy editor. Â
Ferraro received his Bachelor's in Communications with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film from Marist in 2001. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Core/Liberal Studies. He served as Sports Editor of The Circle, Marist's student newspaper, and was also Assistant Sports Director of campus radio station WMCR.Â
Ferraro resides in Hartsdale with his wife, Meghan, and son, Jackson.
