Marist University Athletics

Dr. Richard Whalen earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of New York in 1992. He is committed to providing patients with complete comprehensive oral care. Whalen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.

He joined the Marist Athletics Department as team dentist in 2004. Whalen is on call for emergency and non-emergency situations for all of the Marist student-athletes. Additionally, Whalen is a member of the Red Fox Club.

Whalen established Dental Design Studio in 1993 and has been a prominent figure within the dental industry since the studio opened. He is a part of several renowned Dental Associations, including The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies.

When he is not caring for his patients, Whalen finds his greatest joy spending time with his family. He has two beautiful children Zoe and Luke. He also has a passion for sports.
