Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College volleyball team lost to visiting Manhattan 3-1 today in the McCann Center. The Red Foxes were defeated in the first game by a score of 30-17 before they rallied to win a hard fought second game 31-29. Manhattan raced out to an early 5-0 lead and held on to win the third game 30-14 before sealing the victory with a 30-26 win in the final game to win the match.

For the Red Foxes senior Julie Gosewisch (Severna Park, MD) tied a career high with 19 kills and had 14 digs, and freshman Aline dos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) chipped in a double-double as well, recording 15 kills and 12 digs.

Kim Frederick paced the Manhattan attack with 19 kills, while Lauren Belcher and Allison O'Neill each recorded 13 kills in the match.

Marist finished the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season at 0-9, while Manhattan ended with a 6-3 league record. The Red Foxes are now 3-22 on the season and Manhattan improved their overall mark to 12-15.

The Red Foxes next game will be their final match of the year. They will play host to Binghamton on Senior night on Wednesday, November 14th at 7:00 PM. There will be a ceremony honoring the seniors preceding the match.
