Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College volleyball team dropped a three set match 3-0 to visiting St. Peter's this evening in the McCann Center. The Red Foxes (3-21, 0-8) lost the first game by a score of 30-10. The second game went back and forth after Marist took an early 8-6 lead. The Red Foxes trailed 29-28 when St. Peter's (20-5, 8-0) scored the winning point and took the match 30-28. After a slow start in the third game Marist rallied to within one at 10-9 before the Peahens won 30-24 to complete the victory.

The Red Foxes received an 11 kill, 12 dig effort from senior Julie Gosewisch (Severna Park, MD). Freshman Courtney Pusko (Cheshire, Conn.) also aided in the Marist offense by adding six kills and hitting .417 and played good defense recording 10 digs and five blocks.

Valentina Zaharieva knocked down 16 kills and had 11 digs for St. Peter's, while Ludmila Kechina added 13 kills for the Peahens.

The Red Foxes will be back in action this Sunday, November 11th at 1:00 PM when they host Manhattan in the McCann Center. Senior night will be on Wednesday, November 14th at 7:00 PM against Binghamton. There will be a ceremony preceding the match honoring the seniors playing their last home match.
