TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Sean Kennedy scored 20 points to help Marist come back
from a two-point halftime deficit for a decisive 80-69 win over Rider on
Saturday.
David Bennett had 16 points for Marist (6-2, 2-0), while Rick Smith and
Dennis Young added 13 each.
Marist, which trailed by up to 12 points in the first half, started the
second period with a 9-3 run that opened up a 47-43 lead. The Red Foxes never
fell behind again.
They capitalized on Rider's 21 personal fouls, going 16-for-21 from the foul
line.
Mario Porter led Rider (2-5, 0-1) with 20 points and a game-high 17
rebounds. Jerry Johnson scored 17 points and Rich Baker added 13. Rider falls
to 0-5 at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton.
