Marist College Sports Information Director, Kimberly Zivkovich, has announced her resignation from the school's athletic department it was announced today by Director of Athletics, Tim Murray.
Zivkovich, who has helped publicize and promote the 23 varsity athletics programs at Marist, will join the Old Dominion University Sports Information Office overseeing the media relations efforts for the nationally recognized women's field hockey and women's basketball programs.
"I would like to thank Kim for all her hard work and loyalty to the Marist Athletic Department," said Murray. "I wish her luck and the best of success at her new post."
Joining the Marist athletic department in January of 2000, Zivkovich along with Marist and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has helped host five conference championships and was the primary media contact for the 2000 and 2001 NCAA men's tennis and baseball programs.
Zivkovich joined Marist after serving as an undergraduate assistant in the Office of Sports Media Relations at her alma mater, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. At Rutgers, she served as a contact for the nationally ranked women's basketball, men's lacrosse, and field hockey programs, as well as assisted in the media relations efforts of the school's 27 other Division I programs.
During the summer of 1998, Zivkovich served as a Venue Management Staff Assistant at Madison Square Garden in New York City during the Summer Goodwill Games. At the international event, she assisted with the basketball, wrestling, and boxing events, and directed the venue communications center.
Zivkovich will leave her position effective August 17th.
